BURLEIGH HEADS, QUEENSLAND (23 November, 2023) -Red Bull Foam Wreckers will return to Burleigh Heads this Saturday, 25 November 2023. Red Bull Foam Wreckers is an anti-surf contest, where participants must ride a soft-top (foamie) surfboard.
The event encourages surfers of all levels to participate, with competitors being provided with a Catch Surf soft-board to use on the day. Prior to each heat, competitors will spin the ‘Wheel of Shred’ to determine which soft-board model they’ll ride.
The judges will be scoring on creativity, style and most importantly, who is having the most fun. All traditional competition rules will be out the window.
Surfing Queensland Event Manager, Elliot Dempster, is excited about the return of the Red Bull Foam Wreckers to Burleigh Heads.
“It’s not often a surf competition can facilitate all types of surfers and ability levels,” said Dempster. “We’re thrilled to be a part of this Red Bull series, and after last years success, we’re expecting a fun day for all!”
There will be special appearances from World Tour surfers and Red Bull athletes such as Jack Robinson and Molly Picklum, who will also be participating in an expression session.
Once the event has concluded, there will be an afterparty at Naami Bar at 7:00 pm. All competitors will receive a complimentary beverage upon arrival.
The Red Bull Foam Wreckers will also head to Yallingup, Western Australia on 9 December, 2023.

The event will be held at Burleigh Heads, commencing at approximately 8.00 am. Look out for the Red Bull and Surfing Queensland tents on the beach in front of Justins Park.

ABOUT RED BULL FOAM WRECKERS
Welcome to Red Bull Foam Wreckers, the anti-surf contest surf contest with one very simple requirement: you must ride a soft-top (foamie) surfboard. That’s pretty much it, the rest is up to you! Catch as many waves as you want, and ride them however you’d like, your goal is to have more fun than everybody else! We’ve even partnered with Catch Surf to provide foamies for you to use. All you need to bring down to the beach on event day is yourself and a fun-loving attitude.
Before your heat you will spin the “Wheel of Shred” to determine which soft-board model you’re going to rip on. You’ll paddle out with up to 8 of your closest (new) friends all on different soft-boards and proceed to stake your claim as the most “unique” soft-board surfer!
You never know what our “professional” judges might be looking for, they all have their personal preferences that they’ll share before you paddle out, the key is to be creative, think outside the box and have fun!
