DURANBAH BEACH, Tweed Coast, NSW/AUS (Monday, 6 October, 2025) – Queensland’s Isla Huppatz, Tayla Green, and Stella Green were among the standout performers at the inaugural MURF Electric Bikes Tweed Coast Pro Junior, where Dane Henry (AUS) and Isla Huppatz (QLD) claimed impressive victories. The event brought together 90 of Australia and Oceania’s best 20-and-under surfers, all vying for a place at the 2025 WSL World Junior Championships to be held in the Philippines this January.
Tweed Coast local Dane Henry (AUS) continued his incredible run of form, taking victory on home soil to move into fourth on the rankings and inside the qualification bracket for the World Juniors. Fresh off becoming the ISA World Junior Champion, Henry looked unstoppable in the Men’s Final, posting an 18.00 heat total (out of a possible 20) — the highest of the event. His lightning-fast power and progression proved too strong for Dom Thomas (AUS), Willem Watson (AUS), and Willis Droomer (AUS), who finished second, third, and fourth respectively.
“I’m stoked to win the Tweed Coast Pro Junior,” Henry said. “It meant a lot to me to get the win in my hometown in front of all my family and friends, plus the Kingy boardriders crew as well. It was so good to get this event back to the Tweed Coast, and to get to surf a Pro Junior at Duranbah was sick. It was one event on the calendar that I really wanted to take out, and I couldn’t be happier that I achieved that goal.”
In the Women’s Final, Queenslander Isla Huppatz claimed her first Pro Junior win of the year, moving into second on the Australia/Oceania Regional Junior Rankings. The stylish natural-footer saved her best performance for last, posting two excellent rides for a heat-winning total of 16.50. Fellow Queenslanders Tayla Green and Stella Green also impressed, finishing second and fourth respectively, while Lucy Darragh (AUS) placed third.
“You don’t go in a comp unless you think you can win it, so I had some belief coming in,” Huppatz said. “I took it heat by heat, and I’m glad to get the win. There were waves across the whole beach, and we were all spread out with opportunity, but I think I got the best of it. I’m so happy to take the win.”
The 2025 MURF Electric Bikes Tweed Coast Pro Junior ran at Duranbah Beach from October 4–5, showcasing the depth of emerging talent across Australia and Oceania.
