The first-ever Surfing State of Origin event is set to take place at Burleigh Heads on Sunday, April 30th. The event promises to showcase some of the best surfers from Queensland and New South Wales, as they go head-to-head for state pride and bragging rights.
After a week of pumping surf in South East Queensland, the surf forecast is promising to continue the run of waves for the premier event, with three-to-four foot waves and light southerly winds predicted for Burleigh Heads.
This unique event will see surfers representing their local club and respective states, battling for the ultimate title of Surfing State of Origin champions. The competition will be fierce, with club surfers from both states bringing their A-game to the Gold Coast’s natural amphitheatre.
The Surfing State of Origin promises to be an exciting day, with plenty of action both in and out of the water. Spectators will have the opportunity to witness some of the best surfers in the country compete for glory, and soak up the buzzing atmosphere. Competitors and spectators can also enjoy the pop-up beach bar and live music.
