Aussie actor, Travis Fimmel, has teamed up with MasterChef winner-turned-judge and restauranteur, Andy Allen to launch a ‘sessionable’ low carb mid-strength beer – Travla – to quench this big country’s thirst.
Proudly partnering with Surfing Queensland’s first event of 2023, the Gold Coast Open presented by Cocobella, the new Travla Mid-strength Lager (3.5% ABV and only 89 calories per can) reflects the adventurous can-do Aussie spirit.
Travla Founder Travis Fimmel said that Travla reflects Aussies’ collective desire to get out and experience the world and for surfers, there’s no one who would travel further for the perfect wave.
“Australia has the best backyard in the world. So we want our beer to back those who get out and explore it!” Fimmel said. “I can’t wait to get to Burleigh and soak up the sun and waves and I invite all of the Gold Coast to come to the Travla beach bar to view the action with us.”
Co-Founder Andy Allen added the mid-strength beer category is a fast-growing market, driven by consumer demand for more moderate alcohol volume and lower carb and calorie counts.
“If you love a beer but you still want to be able to wake up the next day and hit the waves or do whatever you fancy, mid-strength is for you,“ Allen said.
“In the past, low carb meant low flavour, so our mission was to create a beer that’s better for you, and actually tastes bloody good. So we hope the Burleigh locals will come and find us and agree!”
