The 2024 Australian SUP Titles concluded on 26 October, with champions crowned across five divisions in SUP Marathon Racing. Jonathan Hagan (Robina, QLD) claimed the Open Men’s title, while Ke’ale Dorries (Elanora, QLD) secured the Open Women’s crown. Both competitors achieved back-to-back victories, having also won the SUP Technical Race in their respective divisions yesterday. These wins have earned them spots at the 2025 ISA World SUP and Paddleboard Championship.

“It was a really fun marathon race in the end,” Hagan said. “The wind was behind us, which was nice and the tide was going with us. It’s such a beautiful place down here at Phillip Island. The conditions were amazing it was a really enjoyable paddle.”

Contest Director Rohan Fell said: “We had beautiful conditions today, with light easterly winds that gradually picked up during the race, making for exciting competition. The course, starting at Coronet Bay and finishing on the Cowes foreshore, allowed us to time the race with the outgoing tide. Phillip Island is ideal for a range of wave and racing profiles. Bass Coast Shire has been an incredible host, and we’re already looking forward to returning next year.”

About the Australian SUP Titles
The Australian Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) Titles are being held in Phillip Island as part of a two-year partnership with Bass Coast Shire Council and Surfing Victoria.
Hundreds of competitors from across the nation will compete in the disciplines of SUP Surfing, SUP and Prone Technical Racing (between 4-8km of several laps in and out through the surf) and SUP and Prone Marathon Racing (15-20km).

The Sprint and Marathon races are open to all athletes, while athletes competing in SUP Surfing divisions must qualify through their state titles. This will then provide a pathway to the ISA World SUP & Paddleboard Championships in 2025.
