Published on 18/07/2022

The Rip Curl GromSearch series is set to hit the water these September school holidays, giving junior surfers the opportunity to test their skills against the best in the country. With an interrupted event schedule over the previous two years, event organisers and participants are stoked to have events back at the beach.

Rip Curl Event Manager Mark Flanagan said, “after the uncertainty of the past few years we’re looking forward to putting on some epic events for the next generation of talent in Australia.”

An inclusion for the 2022 season is the adoption of the National age division for the GromSearch series, with Flanagan adding “After consultation with surfers, parents, Surfing Australia and surfing state bodies we decided to align with the national age divisions for the benefit of all participants. It wasn’t an easy decision, but we thought we’d make the change to help unify development pathways for surfers in this region”.
