SUNSHINE COAST, QUEENSLAND (Tuesday, 27 May 2025) – The weather was warm and the waves were clean for the fourth day of the 2024 Queensland Surf Championships at Ann St, Currimundi on the Sunshine Coast.
Today marked the Stand Up Paddle (SUP) Surfing Titles, where Queensland champions were officially crowned.
With the results now in, the Queensland SUP team has been confirmed and will go on to represent the state at the Australian SUP Titles on Phillip Island, Victoria, from October 21 to 25, 2025.
SUP divisions ranging from Open Men’s and Women’s to the Over 60s took to the water in favourable conditions, with the afternoon providing especially ideal waves for the Finals.
Standout performancer Dimity Faulkner claimed victory in three separate divisions which included SUP Over 50 Women, SUP Over 40 Women and SUP Longboard 9ft+ Over 40 Women.
Faulkner will be representing Queensland at the Australian SUP Titles in the SUP Over 50 Women and the SUP Longboard 9ft+ Over 40.
Andrew Prowd surfed exceptionally well in the Open Mens, leading him to claim victory in the marquee division.
Prowd delivered the highest heat total of the event so far, scoring an impressive 18.43 (out of a possible 20). With a performance like today’s, he’s set to be a formidable contender at the National Titles.
Tomorrow will see the Longboard divisions hit the water for the fifth day of competition.
The swell is expected to continue tomorrow, with similar conditions to the previous three days. The Queensland Surf Championships is a mobile event on the Sunshine Coast.
