NOOSA HEADS, Queensland / Australia (Wednesday, March 18, 2026) – Noosa Heads will once again host the region’s best longboarders as the World Surf League (WSL) Noosa Longboard Pro Longboard Qualifying Series (LQS) event returns to the Sunshine Coast for 2026. Held as part of the annual Noosa Festival of Surfing, the competition window will open tomorrow, Thursday, March 19 and run through till Sunday, March 22.
“With its perfect waves and rich history, Noosa remains one of the world’s premier longboarding destinations,” said WSL Director of Longboard and Regional Tours, Will Hayden-Smith. “Events like this are important to the WSL, providing a strong platform for the best longboarders across the APAC region to compete and progress. We’re proud to continue our partnership with the Noosa Festival of Surfing in delivering an event that celebrates both the heritage and future of the sport.”
Featuring over 60 longboarders from all over the world, the event offers valuable points for those in the Australia/Oceania region who are looking to book a place on the 2026/2027 Longboard Tour (LT).
HIghlighting the draw are reigning World Longboard Champion Kai Ellice-Flint (AUS) and current World No. 2 Avalon Gall (USA), as well as four-time World Longboard Champion Taylor Jensen (USA), who returns to WSL competition at Noosa for the first time since 2020.
Multiple other current and former LT members will also compete, including Northern Beaches duo Tully White (AUS) and Declan Wyton (AUS), Sophia Culhane (HAW), Kevin Skvarna (USA), the Sunshine Coast’s Kirra Molnar (AUS), and defending event winners Max Weston (AUS) and Malia Ilagan (USA).
Additionally, many challengers will be looking to lock in a rookie LT season, including New Zealand’s Amelie Wink (NZL) and Jack Tyro (NZL), Noosa local Mia Waite (AUS) and Victoria’s Ben Considine (AUS).
