SUNSHINE COAST, QUEENSLAND (14 December, 2025) – Competition ramped up today at Coolum Beach as surfers fought to stay in contention through the requalifying rounds of the 2025 Cooee Grommet Pro pres. by We Are Feel Good Inc.
With spots in Finals Day on the line, competitors from U8 mixed to the U16 boys and girls divisions delivered high-energy performances and plenty of action at Coolum.
Throughout the day, young surfers pushed through the pressure as they attempted to requalify and keep their Finals Day hopes alive. The action concluded with the Under 14 and Under 16 Boys Round 2 heats, where crucial results saw positions officially locked in for Finals Day and tomorrow’s lineup begin to take shape.
The closing heats of the day showcased exceptional talent, with Tate Buratowski in the U16 boys posting the highest single-wave score of the competition, a 9.33. Strong performances were also on display from Sonny Brooke, Max Goold, and Sunny Canina, as the level of surfing continued to rise heading into Finals Day.
Finals Day action is set to deliver an exciting showcase of junior surfing talent, with champions to be crowned across divisions from Under 8 through to Under 16. Spectators are encouraged to come down and experience the atmosphere on the beach as champions are crowned.
Beyond the competition, the Cooee Grommet Pro continues to offer a vibrant beachside experience, with games, prizes and a mechanical wave adding to the fun for families, friends, and supporters throughout the day.
