SUNSHINE COAST, QUEENSLAND (15 December, 2025) – Finals Day delivered an exciting conclusion to the 2025 Cooee Grommet Pro presented by We Are Feel Good Inc., with champions crowned across multiple divisions as Coolum Beach came alive with junior surfing talent.

The day kicked off with the Under 8 Mixed Parent-Assist division, where Lakey-Rae Bell claimed victory in the opening final of the day. The Cooee Grommet Pro remains one of the only competitions in Australia to feature a dedicated “micro-grom” division, providing a unique and inclusive introduction to competitive surfing.

Action continued with a tightly contested Under 10 Boys final, where Slater Edwards narrowly secured the win over Huey Wilson, locking in victory with a clutch final wave scoring 6.90. In the Under 10 Girls division, Leila Annand stood out throughout the event and converted her strong form into a well-earned victory.

The Under 12 divisions showcased depth and determination, with Flynn Swierczewski claiming the win in the boys division against fierce competition from Jaya Suhendra and Zeph Bartlett, while Sage Fleming took out the Under 12 Girls title.

Momentum continued into the older divisions, with Sunny Canina securing the win in the Under 14 Boys, followed by Lily White claiming top honours in the Under 14 Girls division.

The Under 16 Boys final delivered an aerial showcase and some of the most progressive surfing of the event, with the heat going down to the wire. Kai Coleman claimed the win after posting a 7.17 in a final that could have gone either way.

“There were so many exciting moments in that final and it honestly could have gone any way with the level of progressive surfing out there,” said Coleman. “I was just looking for a wave that would allow me to get one strong opening turn, and one came through at the right time and delivered the score I needed.”

The event concluded with a thrilling Under 16 Girls final, where Savannah Rielly held her nerve to secure the final win of the day, finishing ahead of Gidget Kowalski, Charlotte Rielly, and Mia Pihl.

“I was incredibly nervous waiting on the beach for the final scores to drop,” said Rielly. “I think what really got me through the heat was my wave selection and being patient while looking for sections where I could commit to critical turns. I’d like to thank the event sponsors and the girls in my heat for such a great final.”

Beyond the competition, the Cooee Grommet Pro once again delivered a vibrant beachside atmosphere, with games, prizes, giveaways, and a mechanical wave entertaining families, friends, and supporters throughout the day.
