Surfing Queensland and The Point Coolum Beach partner for Sunshine Coast events

Published on 02/03/2021

Surfing Queensland has partnered with exclusive holiday accomodation provider, The Point Coolum Beach, for its Sunshine Coast events throughout the year.

The Point Coolum Beach will be the preferred accomodation provider for upcoming Surfing Queensland events, starting with the Volkswagen Queensland Surf Festival, which will run from 20-28 March.

Surfing Queensland CEO, Adam Yates, said the increasing professionalism of surfing means that competitors are choosing higher quality accomodation.

“Athletes now expect exceptional accomodation in the best locations. This is why we’ve partnered with The Point Coolum Beach – it provides stunning accomodation overlooking Coolum Beach, perfect for surfers, spectators, and holiday makers,” he said.

The Point Coolum Beach Executive Director, Mark Cameron, said he’s delighted to partner with Surfing Queensland for the year ahead.

“We’re passionate about our local community here in Coolum. Being associated with Surfing Queensland provides us the opportunity to contribute to the development of Queensland surfers, many of which reside here on the Sunshine Coast.”

The Point Coolum Beach overlooks Point Arkwright and Coolum Beach on the Sunshine Coast. The entire complex covers close to six acres and consists of three distinct resort areas: The Hilltop Villas, The First Bay Terraces and The Coral Sea Villas.

The property is located one hundred metres from Third Bay’s secluded beach, and is surrounded by the Coastal Pathway and other walking trails. Coolum’s main patrolled beach is a 15 minute walk along the coastline.
